Manchester United have taken the lead over Manchester City in the chase for Kasper Schmeichel. Former President Goodluck Jonathan has explained why he never declared his asset during his time in office.    Jonathan's disclosure is contained said in a book titled ‘Against the run of play’ written by Segun Adeniyi. Presidency Reacts To Fresh Rumour On Buhari's Health

The Presidency has denied claims by Sahara Reporters that President Muhammadu Buhari is very ill and currently being fed intravenously.  Buhari's Personal Assistant on new media Bashir Ahmad, on Sunday night said the report was totally untrue.  He wrote, "I have received many calls and text messages this evening, asking me whether the story published on Sahara Reporters about President Muhammadu Buhari's health status is true or not.  "The story like so many of its kind is untrue, as Garba Shehu said last week Thursday, there is no need for apprehension over President Buhari's health. We pray that God continues to see Mr. President through this period of recuperation."

Nigeria's Minister for Communications, Adebayo Shittu says President Muhammadu Buhari deserves a second term in office.    According to NIGERIAN TRIBUNE, Shittu said Buhari has fulfilled his campaign promises.  ''His campaign was based on three focal points. Nigeria Troops Gun Down Notorious Militant, Ossy Ibori In Ondo State

BY SHAHARA REPORTERS Ossy Ibori, a notorious militant and kidnapper, was on Sunday night shot dead by Nigerian troops of "Operation Delta Safe". Ibori was killed during a  special operation to repel an attack by his gang on troops around Ajakpa, a creek community in Ese-Odo Local Government Area of Ondo State.                   The death of Ibori was announced in a statement signed by Major Abubakar Abdullahi, Coordinator, Joint Media Campaign Centre of Operation Delta Safe. In addition to killing Ibori, troops the troops also shot some members of his gang.  Ibori's body, added the statement, was identified by residents of the area. However, one soldier was killed in the operation while three others were injured. The injured soldiers are said to have been taken to a hospital for treatment.                                                The statement also explained that troops have commenced the search for gang members who jumped into the river with gunshot wounds

NIA, NSA Clash Over $43m Slush Fund in Ikoyi Apartment

The slush $43m cash found in an apartment in Ikoyi, Lagos state, has generated a buzz between the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) and the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) the Punch reports.  This follows the investigation of NIA DG Ayodele Oke by a committee headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.  According to someone who is close to the investigations, Oke hid the over $43m from President Muhammadu Buhari and Monguno in a private apartment. Nigerians Lose Job As Ecobank Shuts Down 74 Branches

Ecobank Nigeria has shut down about 74 of its 479 branches. The bank says it will deploy staff from the merged branches to other projects but failed to touch on reports that the bank had terminated the appointment of about 50 top personnel staff.  A statement by the bank reaffirmed its commitment to digital transformation, which would enable customers carry out banking activities online, thereby reducing the need to visit physical locations. Charles Kie, the managing director, said the bank hopes to shift its activities to digital channels and improve customers’ experience at reduced cost.
