GCE registration to commence on friday 28th April

The West African Examinations Council, WAEC, has announced that registration for the General Certificate Examination (GCE) 2017 for private candidates starts on Friday, 28th April. This was disclosed via the examination body official tweeter handle, @waecnigeria. It reads: “This is to inform intending candidates for the WASSCE for private candidates 2017 that registration begins on Friday this week. “Candidates are expected to pay a registration fee of thirteen thousand, nine hundred fifty naira N13,950 at any of the approved bank or any accredited agents to obtain the registration pin and information VCD. “Normal registration period is from Friday April 28 to June 28. After obtaining registration pin, candidates should log on to www.waeconline.org for registration. “Candidates should also note that the registration procedure has been designed to accommodate biometric features that will be used for validation at the exam center. “Candidates who wish to register for the e

Fayose Declares Ekiti, Part Of Biafran States

Ekiti Governor, Ayodele  Fayose, has declared Ekiti state as part of Biafra. Although unconstitutional, the Ekiti state governor and member of the Opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, aligned his state with the Biafran states. Fayose stated this when he spo ke to newsmen, during the bail hearing of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, at the Federal High Court that sat  in Abuja on Tuesday. "Ekiti State is now part of Biafra,” he declared.   This is the first time Fayose is openly showi ng support for the movement, which is agitating for a breakaw ay of the South-East from the Nigeria. Kanu has been granted bail on health grounds  .

Buhari and over 20 ministers missing at FEC meeting

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday conspicuously missing at the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting. The meeting is being presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. According to DailyTrust newspaper, the cabinet had awaited the president's arrival until the State House Chief of Protocols suddenly stepped in at 11.00am and whispered to Osinbajo. FEC Buhari Absent.JPG A security officer had also stood anxiously behind the president's official seat in expectation of Buhari's attendance. The Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa are scanty as only about 20 ministers were seated at as 11am.
